Kurt shook his head. "There's no way anyone can be prepared for this sort of stuff. We tell ourselves over and over again that we are, and we want to think we can just shed our high school skin and be all fabulous adults in the real world, but it's not like that. It's hard. I'm already homesick and we haven't even been here very long yet. It's freaking hard work to try and keep a relationship together. Beyond hard. You have to have a lot of inner strength and determination as a team to work together. It's a thing you draw strength from each other to pull off, and I just don't think Brittany even realises the enormity of a relationship, let alone what sort of work it takes to keep it together when you're apart. She thinks her cat craps chocolate, for god's sake," he said with a snort and a shake of his head. "She's sweet and she's simple, but you're a strong-willed ambitious woman who wants to succeed in being herself and liking herself. You're not losing her as a friend, you're just admitting that this relationship with her isn't healthy as it stands right now. Not for her and not for you."

As soon as the confession came, though, Kurt fell silent. His eyebrows rose a little and he searched over her face with his eyes. "Quinn...? Whoa..." He hadn't seen that coming at all. For once, he was pretty sure Quinn was straight, but that didn't mean she ultimately was deep down, which is probably why he wasn't 100% shocked to hear this. Growing up, it was never too late to try and discover who you were deep down and it was never too late to look. "You need to talk to her. Like, really. You can't put this off, no matter how hard it is. Why haven't you spoken to her?"
